Opera Project l’Orféo
A big collaboration between the art and music departments of the University of the Arts, Bremen, is the annual Opera Project.
In July 2011 we gave L’Orféo by Monteverdi. Originating from the baroque era, it was a conscious decision to go for a frugal rather than opulent approach. In line with the setting, an old fabrication hall, we settled on a restricted color scheme in pastel hues and relatively clear and simple silhouettes for the costumes.
My focus laid on the fabrication of the costumes of protagonists Orféo and ruler of the underworld, Pluto.
